First post!

Hi everyone, so this is my very first blog. I am really excited to be sharing my journey of our smallholding. My husband and myself with lots of help from family and friends have been working extremely hard to get everything up and running. When we purchased the land, it had numerous trees and bushes on the land, along with a very long avenue of willow trees. The trees on the perimeter of field were also extremely overgorown. Therefore, a lot of work has taken place to get rid of the bushes and trees from the field and tidy up the trees on the perimeter. However, all of the trees were used in some form or another, either as supports, fencing and wood chip. We also ensured that we replaced all of the trees that we took away. In actual fact we have probably planted more trees than we took away.

It has been a very steep learning curve but has also been the most wonderful experience. Don't get me wrong, it has been hard work but it has been well worth while. We have moved from a plain field to having a paddock area for our alpacas; growing areas for fruit, vegetables and salads and having a flock of chickens. We have also had a bore hole installed, an office and a shed for esential equipment.

I hope that you will follow our journey and support us as we endeavour to support the local community and sell our fresh food and produce. Thank you in advance for your support.
